Privacy policy
This page explains what data this unofficial guide collects, why, and how you can control it. Analytics storage is off until you accept it.
Who runs this site
Chained Beasts Guide is an independent, unofficial fan resource about the game Chained Beasts. It is not operated by Featherweight Games. For privacy questions, use the contact details on the contact page.
What data is collected
Server and security logs
The site is served through Cloudflare. Cloudflare may process standard request data such as your IP address, user agent, requested URL, referrer and timestamp to deliver the site, mitigate abuse and diagnose errors. This is infrastructure data, not a marketing profile.
Analytics (only with consent)
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which guides are useful. With your consent, Google Analytics may collect:
- Pages viewed and approximate time on page.
- Approximate location derived from IP address.
- Device, browser and operating system information.
- Referrer and basic interaction events.
- Cookie identifiers used to distinguish sessions.
We do not use Google Analytics advertising features on this site, and ad storage is denied. IP anonymisation is enabled.
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include in the message. We use it only to answer you.
What we do not collect
- No account registration, comments or newsletter.
- No payment data; purchases happen on Steam or console stores.
- No contact form submissions stored on this site.
- No sale of personal data.
- No advertising or retargeting pixels at the time of writing.
Cookies and local storage
Before you make a choice, Google Analytics runs with analytics storage denied. If you accept, Google Analytics may set cookies such as _ga and _ga_*. If you decline, analytics storage remains denied. We also store your consent choice in your browser's local storage under the key cbg-analytics-consent so we do not ask on every page.
You can clear this choice at any time by clearing site data in your browser. You can also use Google's opt-out browser add-on for Analytics.
Legal bases
- Consent for Google Analytics storage and cookies.
- Legitimate interests for security, abuse prevention and basic site performance.
- Legitimate interests or contract for responding to an email you send us.
Third parties
- Cloudflare — hosting, CDN and security.
- Google Analytics (Google LLC) — analytics, only with consent.
- Steam / Valve, Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo — linked store pages; purchases and account data are handled by those platforms under their own policies.
- Featherweight Games and social platforms — when you follow an outbound link, that site's privacy policy applies.
These providers may process data in the United States or other countries under their standard contractual safeguards. We do not control their independent processing.
Retention
Analytics data is retained for the period configured in our Google Analytics property, within Google's allowed retention limits (up to 14 months). Server logs are retained by Cloudflare for the short period needed for security and operations. Emails are kept only as long as needed to handle the conversation.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise a right, email us via the contact page. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
California residents have the right to know, delete and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell personal information.
Children
This site is a general-audience guide and is not directed at children under 13 (or the applicable age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Do Not Track
Because analytics is consent-based and disabled until you accept, we do not separately respond to browser Do Not Track signals. Declining analytics has the same practical effect for this site.
Changes
If this policy changes, the effective date at the top of the page will be updated. Material changes will be reflected here, not in a hidden changelog.
